A fairly small narrow bar situated at the Hope street exit of Central Station. probably better known as "McGinn's" (after the Scottish folk singer /poet - they renamed it after one of his LPs a few years ago) This is a boozers pub with a basic selection of standard beers (Guinness, Tennent's etc) all at reasonable /cheapish prices (though not always) spirits however are pretty cheap (Smirnoff and coke £1:60) Inside its a narrowish pub with the bar area at the far end as you enter - a few tables and chair populate the floor but most folk stand - 3 TV screens usually showing football are always on (its generally a Celtic pub ) it also has an utsdie area thats pretty busy with smokers) . Punters are a rough and ready crowd out for a good night and some can have way too much to drink but again on the times I have been there I have not seen much hassles and they are friendly. It has a popular karaoke at the weekend (Saturday being the busiest) and you can usually hear a rendition of the Black Eyed Peas hideous "I gotta a feeling" blaring out at some point as you pass by (usually followed by the Killers "Human" ) The toilets are tiny and the floor is usually covered in water from a broken tap /pipe (I hope!) more upsetting is that in the summer it has loads of those those wee fruit flys - Not my cuppa tea but locals are a dedicated lot.

I usually prefer small pubs, but this one is uncomfortably narrow and cramped, especially the toilets which verge on the claustrophobic. Being squashed into a corner of the Glasgow Central station building, it is likely to be one of one of the first pubs a visitor to the city comes across, which is unfortunate. With low prices (e.g. Guinness at £2.80 a pint) and a central location, it tends to attract some rather rough and ready custom and the whole place has a slightly unkempt appearance. It was formerly known as McGinn’s, after Glasgow comedian Matt McGinn, and his likeness can still be seen around the walls. Despite the shortage of space, it sometimes hosts singers and there are two TVs at either end of the bar. The seating outside is on a congested pavement beside a very busy road and serves more as an overspill area from the bar than anything else.
