Soup Dragon left this review about Wharf Inn

A detached white rendered Georgian looking pub and eatry(former farmhouse?), that has had a low-level extension. It has a beer garden at the rear. There is a canal embankment to the side.

The interior had a few rooms. The pub is mainly open plan though there is a bar/lounge and a separate dining area. The lounge has brick pillars and a brick hearth feature. The decor is white and dark painted (black?) wood panel, with white ceiling and a green patterned carpet. There seemed to be a small sideroom with a dart board. The walls were decorated with Victorian prints and plated, farming implements, canal jugs, brasses and model ducks were dotted about the place. There was no TV that i saw and the music was general at an ok level. The service was friendly and the clientele consisted of a few friiendly locals or people moored-up locally.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Old Rosie Cider and Bombardier and a decent Bishop's Castle Cloud Nine on handpull.

Antoher great traditional country pub on the canals of Staffordshire. Closed Mondays and only open 12-3 on Sunday. Worth a visit.
