Brunning & Price pub in an old flour mill. Whilst the upper floors are very popular with diners, the ground floor was also busy with drinkers on my Wednesday evening visit in October. It was already too cold for any outdoor drinking.

The ale choice was the best in Llangollen - Brunning & Price Traditional Bitter & Facer's DHB appear to be the regular ales. Guests were Hobson's Town Crier, Tudor Blackberry Stout & Llangollen IPA. The cider was Lilley's Elderflower. My 6% stout was very enjoyable indeed.

Well worth a visit when in Llangollen. Why are the town's 2 best pubs not in the Good Beer Guide?

Will concur with Delboy that this is a really good Brunning and Price pub restaurant built into an old stone mill house building with an ideal position overlooking the River Dee and with an excellent view of both the fast flowing section of the river and the Llangollen heritage railway station on the opposite bank. Blessed with a fine weather week we also utilised it a few times during our week in town both initially as a pub and then on our last night as a restaurant.
Most of the three floors of the pub internally is used as a restaurant with the exception of ground floor bar and lounge room. But the key feature is the outside space which is the fantastic outside decking area which stretches out over the river and is in full glare of the sun for most of the day. It’s a great spot for an alfresco pint and to watch people mucking about in rafts and canoes on the water.
But another reason to visit the Corn Mill is that, alongside the struggling Sun Inn and the newish Liberty Tavern it’s the only place in town with a varied and changing beer choice.
On my first visit Facer’s Flintshire Brewery DHB, Stonehouse Station Bitter, Mobberley Brewhouse Bunji Session Pale and a very pleasant Twisted Wheel Come and Go were on the ground floor bar. Then at the end of the week when we visited to use the restaurant section the latter three had been replaced by Brunning and Price own badged bitter, Weetwood Ales Southern Cross and Bragdy Brewery Rampart in the upstairs bar.

Really nice Brunning and Price pub right by the river. Stunning outside terrace overlooking the water below. We called in a few times during the week and there was a good choice of beers on. I enjoyed Hobson's Town Crier and a couple from Phoenix brewery - Dragon IPA and White Tornado. Well worth a visit.

A nice pub that serves real ales and food. Very foodie with a dining area set up by the outdoor terrace. The rest of the pub can be a bit dark but is nice enough. Excellent beer terrace with lovely views of the river, station and hills. Can be noisy by the bit where the river whitewater's over the rocks. Local breweries usually provide the beer.

The Corn Mill ( or "Y Felin Yd" - to use the Welsh name which also appears prominently ) is a food orientated former flour mill on the banks of the River Dee near the centre of Llangollen.

It's been tastefully converted into a pub/restaurant retaining wooden beams and decorated with interesting old photos of Llangollen and period advertising posters. There's 3 floors in total with a large outside decking area on stilts overlooking the river and with a view of the steam railway station over the river. From this decking you can see the rotating water wheel inside the building.

The clear emphasis is on food and a varied menu of food is offered at all times. There's that typically relaxed and informal, but impersonal, style of a gastro pub operation.

It's a Brunning and Price establishment and those who have been to The Armoury in Shrewsbury will recognise the style and ambience - no music, fruit machines or TV and a rather stylishly converted characterful interior.

There's 6 handpumps - 5 for real ale and one for draught cider on my visit. Beers on were Hawkshead Lakeland Gold, Titanic First Class, Weetwood Cheshire Cat, Abbeydale Wheat Beer and the Brunning and Price "house beer ( don't know who brews this ).

My Hawkshead Lakeland Gold was a splendid pint and my food was tasty and well presented, arriving promptly.

The pub has been in the GBG for a number of years but, perhaps reflecting the food emphasis, I didn't see any GBG stickers anywhere.

I really enjoyed the visit, but do remember that it's more a restaurant than a pub.

One of Brunning and Price's watering holes. Fine choice of Real Ales plus a bar snack. Restaurant available upstairs in this converted Mill.
Water Wheel still viewable and when the sun shines you can sit on the decking over the River Dee and watch the staeam trains depart from the llangollen station on the opposit bank of the river.

By far the most popular pub in llangollen, the building sits on the river bank and the rapids of the river Dee, wonderful in the summer, good food and ale.
