More cafe than pub, this Grade II listed former shop is now a single-room bar, open most of the day for refreshments. It also has a nightlife role, hosting live music and DJ acts. A solitary handpump on the bar hints at real ale, but it's invariably dry. There are too many proper pubs around to make this one worthwhile for a crawl or pint but it's OK for a morning coffee.
