What looks like a traditional village or small town pub has been totally modernised inside, with no trace of tradition or character left. Mid-afternoon there were no more than a handful of customers eating a (very) late lunch, or possibly a (very) early dinner. On the bar were three hand pumps, with three Robinsons beers, including a Platinum Jubilee special. My half of Unicorn was not as good as the same beer in another pub earlier in the day, and the fact that it poured frothy might suggest that it had been put on too soon and needed some time to reach maturity..

A nice Robinsons pub. A couple of areas to drink/eat in. 3 casks from Robinsons available.

July 2015. Party of 12 who had pre-booked. We are a group of walkers and were very pleased that the landlord had given permission to use small car park for our walk and we gave our order for food as we arrived. On our return we were greeted by friendly staff and customers who inquired how we had got on and then we settled down to the serious business of eating. Let me say that the food was superb and very tasty. Portions were large and the food great value for money. I went for the Rancher's Chicken and it was excellent (although after eying the fish and chips I know what I will select next time we visit). Prices were exceptionally reasonable for the quality of food (including deserts). The service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend eating here within a heartbeat as I am sure you would not be disappointed. Also lots of beers on offer and even my lemonade was reasonably priced.
