Blue Scrumpy left this review about Lichfield Arms

Hidden away in the terraced streets near to the docks, the Lichfield Arms can be found in the current Good Beer Guide. It's a real community pub that serves a real ale. This was Humpty Dumpty Swallowtail. However, most customers were lager drinkers.

The clientele were fairly rowdy. All the beer mats had been thrown on the floor in one area of the single room. A child was playing on the floow suspiciously close to the scene of the crime. Another baby was being wheeled backwards and forwards in its pram across the bar. Signs said that all children needed to be out by 9pm. I left at 8:55 and there was no sign of an exodus.

This is also clearly a big sports pub. An old football match was being shown on the TV, whilst another TV was showing darts. In fact, 6 locals were queuing to repeatedly throw darts.

Certainly a bit rough around the edges, but a solid community local.
