Old Boots left this review about The Derwent Arms

Osbaldwick is a less enticing than some suburb of York due to many newer houses on the Main Street, the Derwent Arms is their only pub but at least they have one.
Traditional two room set up, the left room has banquette seating at rectangular tables with the counter down the righthand side of the spine wall. Home to three pulls with Abbot & Ossett Blonde only on, there’s a horseshoe with five nationals, and a couple of solos. Flooring is carpet and lino and there’s fake stone and wood wallpaper, the room has lots of windows so there’s little room for decoration.
The right hand room is more a public bar, just a Lino floor, but with the added attractions of darts and a big screen. Again it has banquette seating. There’s the same beer set up as in the lounge with three pulls carrying Abbot and Ossett Blonde, a horseshoe of five nationals and a trio of solos with Heineken 0.0 on one, Inch’s and Moretti on the others. A village local with local village regulars it’s their pub and it’s not really there to serve anyone else.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Derwent Arms

A very pleasant pub in old village which has been engulfed by the York estates, but retains a good village pub feel. Traditional two bar layout, with an extended lounge including dining area one side and what is effectively a public bar the other with sports TV etc. Large garden area with children's play equipment at rear. Beer range not the most exciting, with Black Sheep and John Smiths alongside the predictable Doom Bar and Abbot, but at least it was in good condition (Cask Marque listing). Food looked ok but not sampled.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Derwent Arms

The Derwent Arms is in the Osbaldwick area on the eastern side of York.
There were two rooms in this pub i went in the lounge which was to the left this was a longish room that opened out towards the back of the pub this was part carpeted and had country stye seating and was very busy on a Sunday dinner with a lot of people dining.
The bar to the right was also quite busy.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of John Smiths cask and this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Black Sheep bitter and GK Abbot. There was also a large childrens play area to the left of the pub
This pub still had a proper pub feel to it and i was quite happy having a drink in here.
