Komakino . left this review about Red Lion

Located on the B4009 between Benson and Watlington, recent history has been food-led and it held Michelin stars as The Goose before a brief period of closure then resurrection under its former name. This is currently in the hands of the former team from The Chequers / Sweet Olive at Aston Tirrold and a couple of boards outside were marked with 'Olivier at The Red Lion'. Not that you can't get a drink here though, as a small bar counter faces the entrance and offered West Berkshire Mr Chubbs on the solitary handpull and a bar area is located to its right with a smattering of high and low seating. A restaurant area is hidden beyond the bar and there's a nice terrace out back where they grow their own herbs. Not a knockout, but ticks a few boxes and is a nice alternative to some of the pubs in Benson and Watlington.
