Komakino . left this review about The Nelson

A self-styled country pub & restaurant perfectly situated opposite the village church which was happily operating as the former (a pub) on an early weeknight visit. Food is the main draw here and isn't on the cheap side (most mains north of £15). A rustic village pub with a classic L-shape internally, there's dining / seating to the right on entry, a corresponding L-shaped bar and more dining / seating to the left with, pleasingly, not all tables set out. Three ales all from the Rebellion stable, with a monthly one-off entitled Monarch £4 for a pint. There's a nice patio out back for al fresco drinking and dining, however, with a gravelled car park, the odd marque here and there and plummy accents to boot means you need to time your visit just right.
