Komakino . left this review about The Butchers Arms

An imposing three-storey building in the local Hornton stone, so beloved in these parts in this "in-the-sticks" North Oxfordshire village. A nominee for the 2024 Camra Pub of the Year, the place has been transformed as mentioned below under new management, and there are more modern touches than old internally, but the welcome was warm and the gravity dispensed beer (Hook Norton Hooky) superb at just £4 for a pint.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Butchers Arms

Lovely Hook Norton pub in a quiet village a few miles west of Banbury. Set back some distance from the road by a terraced beer garden that catches the sun for most of the day, with a 'pitch' (or whatever it's called) for the traditional rural game of Aunt Sally. The partly opened-out interior has been given a surprisingly modern makeover which may alarm some people, but I am happy seeing the place busy late on a Sunday afternoon and some investment in the business. Up to four real ales served by gravity from the stillage on the bar-back, with Hooky, Old Hooky and the Off the Hook IPA (£4.55) available on my visit.

The Butchers Arms is a nice looking pub that is situated in a nice village location.
There is a nice garden to the front of the pub with picnic tables, once inside the pub has got one room with the bar the bar facing there were normal tables and chairs and the pub seemed fairly basic but in a nice way.
This pub is a Hook Norton tied house and there were three real ales on here but no pumps on the bar the beer was in barrels behind the bar,i had a drink of Hookey bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Hookey Gold and Old Hookey.
The pub normally closes at 3.00 in the afternoon but we fell lucky as there was going to be a singer appearing later so the pub was open all day.
This is a nice pub in a nice quiet village.
