Rob Hunter left this review about The Blue Bell

This is a traditional feeling large pub. Six cask ales on the hand pulls at the time of my visit - Liquid Velvet by Born in the Borders was my choice at £1.45 for a half. Also available was Red Dust, Seraphim (Sonnet 43), Steel Town Bitter, and not sure of the other two.

Music was playing at a nice level. Plenty of dark wood, nice plasterwork on the ceiling.

There is an outside area, a function room is advertised, and there is a separate room off the main bar which was unused at the time of my visit but had a separate smaller bar in it. You could certainly do a lot worse than pay a visit here.
