What Pub claims this is an old pub but it didn't look like it to me. It takes up te ground floor of what looks like two modern adjacent buildings. In fact the JDW web site explains that it's housed in a former pub and a furniture shop.
Inside it's a roughly L shaped room with a raised area at the front right. The fixtures and fittings are fairly typical.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom with the GK beers doubled up, Grainstore Triple B, Rutland Panther & Rutland Osprey, a cider and a festival beer from the one they had weeks ago. I went for the Triple B which was hazy but OK apart from that.
I thought this was a pretty average Spoons.

Usual Wetherspoon outlet, but it was light and airy. A short walk from the main town centre area. Beers were fine. We had Oakham Hare & Hedgehog, and one of the leftover foreign festival beers Devils Backbone Brewery American Amber.
