Dating from 1876, this is a relatively grand pub in the heart of Kangaroo Valley, situated bang opposite Earl’s Court tube.
The interior’s quite commanding, with a fine bar back featuring bevelled mirrors with the pub’s name etched into a mirror at centre, though of course, no unimaginative bar today would be complete without the addition of boring glazed white tiles. There’s tall furniture with a studded oxblood banquette, smoky blue wainscoting, then munge coloured walls. Games machines flashed away, whilst a megavision screen showed the football, which no one was watching. A snug to the rear is quite attractive with its three-quarter height wood panelling, the problem being that this is the lair of the games machines.
A Greene King pub with all the resultant liquid baggage in the form of GK IPA and Abbot, three further pumps unused, with me plumping for a Neck Oil at £3.35 a half, served by a rather clueless barmaid, for whom English wasn’t her strongpoint.
Given the location, this is something of a transients’ pub. There’s better locally, such as the Bolton, Blackbird and King’s Head if in need of a drink and a better choice of ales.

On previous visits this place has been a bit overrun with tourists, but in their Covid-related absence it has returned to being a reasonable boozer. The interior is a sort of modern traditional and not overdone with decoration, with a nice wood-panelled dining area to the rear. A few TV screens seem to be kept under control - I could do without the musak but never mind. An upstairs bar and dining room is signed also (not visited). Another GK pub with Abbot and IPA on handpump - condition good.

Again, a nothing pub with no ale to speak of. At least no squawking kids.

This Taylor Walker has a prime location, opposite Earls Court tube. The interior is traditional as you'd expect from the chain. Once through the corner door entrance the bar is over on the right, with six pumps, mostly serving up the usual suspects, two from Fullers, Adnams, Black Sheep etc. There was a small panelled room at the rear. The larger front room with bar area, was painted wallpaped walls and red leather banquette seating. There was a photo of the pub dated 1904.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Courtfield

Rebranded as a Taylor Walker outlet since my last visit in 2009, this has the usual 'Olde London' pub interior but gives the impression of being of being a bit downmarket (certainly compared to the chain's Earls Court Tavern up the road). Five of the six handpumps working this time: Pride, Doom Bar, Bombardier, ESB and 6X (£4.04, less a 10% Camra discount unknown to the barmaid but eventually found on the till by the manager). Unlike last time, I found the staff rather inefficient, trying to serve punters, get glasses out of the washer and distribute food orders to the tables apparently at random.

Another very busy pub on my Monday night visit.Quite a nice traditional styled pub with 5 beers on.Adnams -ghostship, Doombar and Stonehenge -luck of the irish which was my unfortunate choice.I think the barstaff should warn you before they pour a green coloured beer as I would not have ordered it had I known.Dull in flavour if not in colour.

Now a Taylor Walker pub, The Courtfield is very handy for Earls Court station and the Exhibition Centre. The interior and its fittings are becoming shabby, and the prices reflect the location. The single large downstairs bar is still much as described by the last two reviewers, though the upstairs dining area was not open when I visited. The staff were helpful and efficient, but humourless and unsociable. The clientele looked depressed, the awful music was irritating and intrusive and there was an unpleasant smell emanating from the toilets. There were 4 ales on - I had Hobgoblin which was well and truly past its best. On current performance I would leave it to the tourists.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Courtfield

Large single room pub with high ceilings and an impressive array of old lights hanging over the bar. Smaller rear section with comfy seating. Apparently they host live jazz some nights and there is an upstairs restaurant although we did not try this.
There were an impressive six pumps on the bar, although two of these were not is use with "coming soon" notices hung on them. The four that were on were Dirty Tackle, Tetley's Dark Mild, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Young's London Gold. Unfortunately after that selection the only cider was Strongbow which was a little dissapointing.

A large street corner pub opposite Earls Ct station. The ornate gold embossed signage is in contrast to the black painted brickwork. I don't know why pubcos do this, it's not easily reversed once trends change as they surely will.
The interior is one large high ceilinged space, the ceiling being dark red and the walls a mix of wood cladding and dark patterned wall paper. It all leads to a fairly gloomy environment despite the lighting from a number of ornate chandeliers. The front area has the bar, mainly wooden floors and a mix of high tables and more traditional seating. Towards the rear the area is carpeted with wood panelling, old photos and banquettes, plus small tables, all a bit crammed in.
Six handpumps, 5 on, Pride, Taylor's Landlord, Brains Bitter, Dark and Bread of Heaven. Thwaites Lancaster Bomber was "coming soon". Not a bad spot with well kept beer and a traditional feel, but hey, £3.55 for a pint of Bread of Heaven, that is simply too much.
