This pub is disadvantaged by being right next to a busy roundabout. Vintage Inns have done what I suppose they think is the best they can, putting a car park on the approach from the Skipton direction, and turning the entrance to the side so that customers enter through the canalside garden. I found this entrance too fussy and hotel-like, but maybe their more accustomed clientele don't find that off-putting. What I found even more discouraging was the sight of four hand pumps with only two of them badged, and those pump clips both turned around (Landlord and Doom Bar were the last beers to have been served from them). I executed a smart about-turn (or at least, as smart as I'm capable of in my cycling shorts).

Smart pub sited on a busy roundabout a couple of miles from Skipton, which is geared up mainly for diners, although they did have three cask beers on,one of which was the Timothy Taylor Landlord which was spot on my Friday afternoon visit. They were doing a fair trade in the food department, with a fair amount of customers dining outside with the temperature well into the 70's
