This is an L shaped room within an old bank with the bar area retaining the high ceiling which does make it echo somewhat.
I got here on a Saturday Morning for a breakfast and a few beers to find it fairly busy.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had the two GK beers turned, one available soon, Doom Bore doubled up, Wold Top Headland Red, Partner's Working Class Hero, Caledonian Seasoned Traveller IPA, Naylor's Black & Tan and Hobgoblin.
I went for the Working Class Hero and the Headland Red (£2.15) both of which were in good enough condition.
I thought this was a reasonable JDW.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The City and County (JD Wetherspoon)

Housed in one of Goole's landmark buildings, formerly a bank, this 'L'-shaped 'spoons has its bar in towering hall that is almost as high as it is long. Further seating / dining areas can be in two opened-out rooms to one side, and patio beer garden at the back. Pretty decent selection of eight festival ales (all at £2.15) from the ten handpumps, with just Ruddles and Abbot for those looking for something less interesting... Don't know what it's like later in the day, but with its friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, it proved an unexpectedly good place for a late breakfast.

As the previous reviewers point out this is a run of the mill, average Wethy pub accompanied with the usual fixtures and fittings. The pub is L shaped with a decorative high ceiling and an basic selection of cask beers.

Smallish ex-bank but the high ceilings make this place a little 'hollow'. Yellow old cinema deco walls and various seating options - sofa, chair/tables, high stools. Actually I think its an ok Wetherspoons and the staff & beer were good. Strangely quite full at 10.30 on a Monday morning.

Easy walking distance to the railway station.

The CAMRA Mild in May campaign has been taken too far by the manager ,with 3 out of the 4 microbrewery offerings consisting of dark beers. Two interesting beers were "available soon" which drives me to distraction,I really will have to speak to Tim Martin and ask him to stop this highly annoying practice.Prices are particularly low at this 'spoons with most pints sub £2 but the range on our visit was disappointing.Despite being a bank conversion, this isnt a cavernous pub but one lacking character.

A large and typical Wetherspoons conversion, in this case of a bank, leaving a single large, atmosphereless space with high ceilings and an outside garden area. A number of ales are offered: Abbott, Thorne Pale Ale and Brunyard, Ruddles Best and Millstone Loxley and Classic Dark Mild on our visit. This sounds a fair selection but all except the Pale Ale are dark beers leaving a limited choice for a refreshing pint on a warm evening. A shame as with this number of ales offered, a bit of thought could easily ensure that a wider variety of styles and strengths is offered.
