Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hammer & The Anvil

Basement metal bar with a very sparsely furnished room at the bottom of the stairs from which three steps lead to the stage area off to one side. Black and light grey decor, and what would normally be very loud music being played at a relatively sensible volume. Just Hobgoblin (£3.50, and served in the special 2016 Halloween glass) and what appeared to be a 'house' beer from the six handpumps, with reversed Doom Bar and Trooper clips also noted.

Danny O'Revey left this review about The Hairy Lemon/The Bitter End

Now a dedicated self styled bad-ass metal bar called The Hammer And The Anvil.

It is very plush with the bar at the bottom of the stairs & the room opens out with lots of chrome & modern furniture. The walls have various framed posters of bands from Five Finger Death Punch to Motley Crue!

The end part is raised for live music/dance floor.

Heavy metal tracks play in the background.

3 real ales, including Trooper (of course!)

Soup Dragon left this review about The Hairy Lemon/The Bitter End

Another below ground venue - and a place that as gone through more names than an MI5 agent. I remember it most as the Cabin, back in the 80s. Anyhow, it is now TALK, a nightclub, so not sure if it should still be on PG

Sister Crow left this review about B3 Bar and Restaurant

Undergoing refurbishment but still open, B3 has been taken over by the lovely Dolly and her family.
Many of the former "undesirable elements" have been ejected permanently and B3 will be opening as a music venue in the near future (May 2008).
Downstairs has been refurbished as a gig room, with tasteful decor. Will make an awesome live music venue.
Music will tend towards rock/punk/alternative, as well as ska.
The staff are friendly and there is an extensive range of beers on sale at reasonable prices.
The main upstairs bar is still awaiting refurbishment, but this is ongoing.
Pop in and say "hello Dolly", you won't regret it.
