This is a tired old locals boozer that is split into two sections with the bar being on the right where there is a glass food display case built into the bar, but no food was being served during my visit. There is also a dartboard at the rear and a TV screen which was showing six nations rugby to the six regulars that were in attendance. I didn’t spot any adverts for Premiership football and as the rugby was on BBC I left without knowing if the pub has Sky Sports. I did not visit the left hand bar as the lights were all turned off, but I did spot extra seating, another dartboard and a bar billiards table the was covered up.
The barman was friendly enough and the three hand pumps were dispensing Bass, Adnams Stout and Bishops Finger, but I plumped for some well served Guinness from the standard draught selection.
His place is a bit grim and in my opinion there are better pubs in the area.
