Despite being greeted by a couple of lads engaged in fisticuffs in the doorway, this proved to be a fairly pleasant Spoons - nice and airy, not too brightly lit and with the gentle buzz of conversation (no music now). The overhead balcony level round the edge looked an especially nice place for a session. Guest ales were Rooster Variations on a Theme, Phoenix Wobbly Bob and Goose Eye Pommies Revenge, in good order.

Nice modern Spoons with light decor and an upper mezzanine level as well as attractive ceiling work. Two chunks of non-standard JDW aspects – piped music (so is it still a Lloyds?) and a dart board. Five guest ales on to complement the usual stagers, these were sourced mainly from Acorn, so I went for a Barnsley Blonde (NBSS 3) served by a helpful barman. Good atmosphere for a Friday night and my curry was in good order. Quite happy to spend 40 minutes in here and it's a good Spoons on this showing.

thought this ornate two tiered wetherspoons was just about okay. Not the most exciting selection of beers across ten pumps but not bad for a circuit pub. the staff were friendly, as were the few customers by the bar.

Old Boots left this review about The Barum Top Inn (JD Wetherspoon)

A two level spoons with a semicircular counter straight ahead when entering and low table and chair seating around taller tables and stools in the middle. There’s a mezzanine floor above with more tables and chairs. Five plus five bank of pulls interspersed with the usual T bars. Average beer and service nothing much different to many run of the mill spoons, clientele much as you’d expect of a spoons in the afternoon.

This one is still listed as a Lloyds in the JDW directory but I could see no evidence that it still is unless the black boxes above the ground floor windows are speakers. It does have the layout of a Lloyds with a ground floor and an upper area.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had one unused, Ruddles doubled up, Abbot, Exmoor Gold, Caledonian Thunder Trail, Rooster's 88 (?), Chapter 7 Russian Rare-Bit, Phoenix Struggling Monkey and Elland 1872 Porter. I went for the Chapter 7 Russian Rare-Bit (£2.35) which was in good nick.
This one seemed to be a decent Spoons more so if it is actually a Lloyds.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Barum Top Inn (JD Wetherspoon)

A large corner Art Deco style Spoons with an impressive balcony seating area, running around the exterior walls on the first floor height. The ceiling work is also smart with large oval shaped plaster work and marble painted niches. Ten ales on our visit, so we went for Goose Eye Chinook which was a good choice.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Barum Top Inn (JD Wetherspoon)

Not obviously a pub (let alone a 'spoons) until you get quite close, and larger inside than one might expect. 'L'-shaped bar with a high ceiling, a raised seating area at one end and a narrow balcony on two sides. Busy on a Friday night, but the bar staff were efficient. Reasonable selection from ten handpumps, including a decent pint of Ilkley Ruby Jane (£2.05).

Good looking JDW just off the main street. There's a decent sized downstairs area and a balcony on two sides full of dining tables and chairs. A good selection of guest ales and staff who seem to know what they're doing. I walked up to the bar and the barman who was just finishing serving the guy next to me said "There's two people over there before you, I'll be right back" and he was as well. They could still have done with more staff on the bar early on a Friday evening, but at least they were good staff. The Bend Eclipse Cascadian Dark was a good pint as well. It's pretty good for a JDW is this one.
