Originally the Globe, this is a quite commanding corner pub dating from the 19th century and the second closest to the former Highbury stadium.
A first in here the other night and the place has seemingly had a makeover of some sort, but the previous reviews apply.
There’s much framed Arsenal memorabilia as to be expected, which also includes an Arsenal-themed red and white frieze to the ceiling, but it’s a dark, gloomy opened out affair with slate grey and white paint and a raised stage area at left, the acoustic performer being really rather good, to much justifiable applause from the young, local crowd. There’s little furniture, the whole geared towards vertical drinking, with what little furniture available being tall.
Surprisingly there was real ale of sorts, in the form of a Doom pump to the far rear left of the U-shaped bar, so I went for a half of Guinness at £3.00, served by a glum barmaid.
I suppose the live music factor and Gooners’ shrine make for something different in these parts, but the Woodbine and Bank of Friendship out on the left and right wings make for far more satisfying pub experiences.

Large pub with the interior adorned in arsenal memorabilia. 3 real ale taps(2 on during my visit). Live music advertised.

Having a soft spot for Arsenal I was looking forward to having a look around this pub at the famous memorabilia and I wasn't disappointed as there are all sorts on display. Unfortunately the pub itself has as much character as the bog standard lagers it churns out and there seems to be little interest from the local inhabitants.

There are a couple of pool tables in the back room and numerous plasma screens dotted about the pub which proudly states on the board outside that “if it's on we'll show it”, there obviously wasn't much interest in the Spanish match that was airing then. The barmaid was nice enough, but after exhausting the sights I decided to make haste.

Good for football, but not a lot else.
