Popped in here for one as it is the nearest pub to the stopping point for the Camden Town to Little Venice water taxi. Well described by Mr Fastard below TT Landlord , St Austell Tribute and Sharps Doombar was the ale choice on the three pumps for our visit and the Landlord was also in good condition for us also. Comfortable enough place for a beer but will also concur that the nearby Warwick Castle is a better pub experience and it wasn’t long before we were on our way up the road.

A fine looking building ,there is a theatre on the first floor, but a pub arrangement on the ground floor. There is a small patio at the front with dining tables, while the entrance to the saloon includes door frames which hint at a former two room layout. There is a dark wood floor throughout the L shaped interior, with more dining style tables both 2 and 4 seater with all tables numbered and with a tea light but none laid for service.A QR code at the table introduces you to the menu, standard pub fare but at a premium price given the location, burgers £14.50 for instance.
The internal decoration is quite sparse,it does have the corporate pubco owned feel and the three handpump selection was predicatable in Doom Bar,Purity UBU and TT Landlord (Decent ,NBSS 3,£5.40).There isn't much to see here and the nearby Windsor Castle is the more interesting pub.The welcome was friendly, the muzak too loud it's functional at best.

In the Good Beer Guide 2020 - so thought I would check it a bit more thoroughly than last times dismissive view.

It does have a traditional bar - but quite how it gets in the bible when just a single Doom Bar is available on hand pull is anyone's guess.

The food, however, is very good. Tapas stile bar snacks - 3 for £11 made up for the £6.05 for a Camden Hells. Although that is probably very normal for the area!

Well positioned next to the canal, this is a rather upmarket pub with an in-house theatre. The pub has a single room interior with bare boards throughout and the servery down the left-hand wall. There is a good mix of seating throughout, including some rather nice button backed banquettes at the front of the pub under the large windows that make this the brightest part of the pub, high tables and stools further into the room and regular seating in the dining room-style space that occupies much of the rear part of the room. The servery is midway down the left-hand wall and has an attractive bar counter with a decorative top, a traditional looking bar back and some lamps hanging over the counter which are made from red plastic ‘jewels’. A few interesting pictures line the walls and I kept seeing bits and bobs that implied that the pub was formerly a Young’s house, although that may also have just been my imagination getting the better of me. There was a good post-work crowd in on my mid-week visit, many of whom were eating, and I did wonder whether the place would suddenly empty out once the theatre opened its doors. I got chatting to a rather drunk old-boy at the bar who regaled me with tales of his youth as a pick-pocketer on the tube, before explaining in great detail how he could nab about a dozen phones from various tables around the pub, not that he was “into that sort of thing anymore”!
The bar had three handpulls in operation, dispensing Sharps Doom Bar and Rising Tide and Taylors Landlord. I thought I ought to give the Rising Tide a try, having not encountered it previously, and it was a fairly run of the mill brew which somehow seemed fitting giving the other potions available. The barman seemed a bit of a grouch, but did, on occasion, find it in himself to humour the old-boy who was chatting to me.
This is a nice enough pub with a few interesting features, some comfortable spots to settle down with a drink and a fairly mainstream ale selection. I didn’t mind spending a bit of time in here and wouldn’t complain if I found myself back some other time, but my main takeaway from this place was definitely the character I met here rather than the character of the pub itself.

Certainly worth a trip if you're going to take in the News Revue show in the theatre, which has been running here since 1979 and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as being the world's longest running show of its type; very entertaining it is too. The real ale here is probably the best in the area though that's not saying much. Typically Landlord and Doom as staples with a couple of other guests at a hefty price.
Otherwise, the pub is very stripped out with hardly any original reference points though the fairly plain bar back may be original. There's a pale floor and high, large black modern spot lamps; furniture is mainly conventional with a couple of sofas by the fake flame stove, thereafter a couple of tall tables with equally tall chairs. There's food too but it's a bit burgery rather than gastro.
However, this pub has an infuriating habit of closing very early at times, presumably if management deems the pub not to be busy enough. On a couple of occasions I've experienced last orders being called at just 9.40, table cleaning and chair stacking having commenced 10 minutes earlier; other drinkers were equally put out. The bottom line is this: if the pub's opening hours can't be relied on, what's the point of visiting - who wants to hoof out here to find the place closed?

Not actually sure if this is a pub. Outside, it says "Canal, Cafe, Theatre"

Decided it wasnt really for me and moved on.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bridge House

Attractive, rather grand, end-of-terrace building (also housing the Canal Café Theatre upstairs)near the canal junction at Little Venice which doesn't suggest 'pub' at all, even when you get close up. Staple-shaped bar with semi-modern furniture and decor. Several sports TVs. Three of four handpumps in operation, offering Doom Bar, Landlord and Windsor & Eton Knights of the Garter (£3.00 on special offer). 'Winter Cash Ale Festival' due to start following day.

I received unbelievably bad service from the barman in here and my Guinness was the worst poured I've ever seen. A third of it was head and it was poured in one go into an IPA glass and delivered to me with a grimace. Often when confronted with an ignorant and curt barperson I usually make the effort to get something out of them in the form of a brief conversation, but this guy was having none of it.

Along with the Guinness, Landlord, Pride, Greene King IPA, Carling and Premium lagers were also available. The pub does have a bohemian feel so if you like drinking in a darkened room with sheets on the oddly fitting sofas and curtains over the windows blocking out the sun you'll love it here. I think that the mind numbing jazz playing in the background was the final straw that made me walk outside to finish my drink and have a ciggy. If this pub was any closer to the canal it would be in it, yet it has no views of it whatsoever.

Maybe the theatre upstairs has some good performances as there surely has to be something that keeps people going here.

It is a certainty that I will give this place a miss when I'm next in the area.
