Dating from 2004 this is a modern Youngs City pub, and the internal layout still fits the description given by Malden Man some ten years ago.
Although it clearly has undergone a makeover since the last reviews which tried to instal some character into the main open plan space in front of the main serving bar, but you cannot get away from the fact that this is a modern, largely sterile décor City pub.
The bar top now only supports four hand pumps and with one of these non-functional and Youngs Original on two of those remaining I was pleased to see St Austell Proper Job on the remaining pump for my visit, and it was in good condition.
It is squarely aimed as a lunchtime or early evening venue for those who work nearby, and in that respect, it fulfils the brief. But for those more interested in London’s characterful pubs needn’t bother with this one.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Paternoster
Modern Young's pub on the periphery of the Broadgate development, sub-divided into a number of different seating / dining areas. Mix of furniture and fairly bland decor. On the plus side, decor selection from the eight handpumps: Ordinary, Special and London Glory plus Wandle and Pumphouse Pale from Sambook's, Redemption Rock the Kazbek, Truman's Hoptoberfest (£4.45) and Old Rosie cider.

A modern and fairly soulless place under a city office block and within the shadow of St Pauls Cathedral. Boarded floors, all manner of seating and with a slightly raised section in the middle which had tables set for food, a far corner has an area which can be separated and hired out which has some wood panelling and various bits of framed artwork on display. Light décor including some jazzy leaf patterned wallpaper, low key music while a BBC news channel played on mute.
A Young's place, Bitter, Special and London Gold, Redemption Trinity, two ciders, Old Rosie plus Weston's Still Cider, Bombardier and Redemption Pale Ale were apparently "coming soon".
No features of interest and a clinical functional feel. The beer was ok and it was an open pub on a Bank Holiday Monday in the City but little to entice me back to be fair.

The Paternoster is a modern pub that is quite close to St Pauls cathedral.
The pub was built around 2004 when paternoster square was redeveloped and this pub was a replacement for the closed Master Gunner which in my opinion was a better pub.
Once inside there was one large room that i noticed and this had modern style furnishings with lots of tall tables,this room was not really to my taste.
The pub is a Youngs tied house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Youngs bitter and this was a decent drink the other beers were Youngs Special and Youngs Winter Warmer.
