A basic one room pub with a central bar, as mentioned before there are Darts, Pool and Live TV sport for entertainment purposes. There were a few locals in all drinking Lager or Cider, so it was with some trepidation I ordered a half of Courage Directors, the only ale available from the three handles on the bar, this served up in a Doom Bar glass was actually quite good, the pub however is one best left to the locals.

I found this to be a rather plain and ordinary pub, the main room has a central horseshoe bar, a couple of blue banquettes and a few stools and a blue carpet. There is a dartboard on a side wall. Beyond the bar to the rear left, a small separate area houses a pool table. The pub has a book club with an exchange or replace policy with books lining a couple of window cills but they appear in fairness to be a dull selection of rather dog-eared paperbacks. There is a large TV in one corner which was switched off. To the front were a couple of bench tables facing the main road enclosed by a low fence. Rooms were advertised from £15.
Two handpumps, one on serving Courage Directors (£3.05).
The pub seems to be lacking something, there are limited places to sit with areas of the room seemingly just empty spaces where tables or banquettes would make the pub look more welcoming. Decor also is minimal with a few token prints of the area, and strangely standard 6x4 snapshot photos of various regulars stuck above the bar.
An uninspiring place, it is unlikely I'll be back.

Unpretentious basic local boozer, reopened after a bit of a facelift. Pool, darts, sports on tv. One for the lads.
