Steve C left this review about The Prince Regent

This pub was the Fielder and Firkin until a change of name to Prince Regent a few years ago. It was pretty empty when I visited late on a recent Saturday afternoon and most of the locals had congregated in the small raised area to the left of the bar where a Premier League football match was being shown on a plasma screen. To the right of this spacious pub is a dartboard and pool table that was being used by the rest of the local contingent. There is a small stage area against the front window to the right of the entrance and a disco is advertised for every Friday night, but I’m not sure what sort of clientele is attracted as I’m always cautious of pubs that display ‘random searches’ signs. The bar is stocked with standard draught and four of the hand pumps were unused leaving Courage Best as the lone ale option. All of the other punters were drinking lager so I would question the quality of the ale.
There is a smoking area out the back that leads to a beer garden and to the left of the pub is a car park that had a florist’s stall set up in it.

I will walk past this pub when next in the area unless there are signs of a major change.
