David Ross left this review about Cawburn Inn

A main street pub in the former mining village of Pumpherston, which has now been effectively subsumed into Livingston New Town, this is a pleasantly traditional alternative to the modern plastic New Town bar/diners. It consists of a bar and a lounge, although, oddly, the pool table is in the section which appears to be the lounge. A dart board, TV and most of the customers were in the other bit. Reasonable prices, at £2.80 for a pint of Tennents lager, with Guinness, Belhaven Best and Strongbow cider also on draught.
