A well established Hamilton local, which has been a very popular town venue since it changed from Skelton’s Bar in the early 1980s. It consists of a large rectangular lounge with the bar stretching along almost its complete length. There is a separate children’s section at one end and a dedicated dining area at the other, although food is served throughout. Meals are available from 11.00 a.m. until 6.30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and until 9.00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Prices are cheap, with almost all meals costing less than £6. Drink prices too are good value, with a pint of Stella Artois selling at £3.10. Tennent’s and Peroni lagers, Caledonia Best, Guinness and Strongbow cider are also on draught. The score of real ale tap labels displayed on the wall suggests that it too was once available, but sadly no more. There are two entrances, one from the main road at the front and another from the narrow back street at the rear, so you can enter by one door and leave by another, if you are so minded.
