A proper workingmans local. The main room is L shaped and there's another room to the rear that I didn't visit. Very busy on my Friday, early evening visit when the nearby Beehive had 2 punters in. 3 handpumps on the bar all badged with Tetley's Bitter, which was in decent nick. The crowd were friendly, but boisterous, with lots of swearing. It's obviously doing something very well, I'm just not sure what it is.

An old corner pub with a bland modern interior, there are cast iron based tables and some fluted wainscotting left over from what looks like a sixties makeover. A very popular, but ordinary, community pub, it was busy when other nearby pubs were deserted. Three hand pulls of Tetleys cask but that was as bland as the décor.

The Rose and Crown is a corner pub on a very busy road and fairly close to the city centre.
Once inside here the pub was quite smart and very busy with locals there was only one real ale on the bar which was Tetley bitter and this was a nice drink.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a few drinks in.
