Alehouse! Must be good, right? Sadly doesn't deliver on that front with two cask on over three pumps. My Anarchy Brew Co was pedestrian at best, maybe NBSS 2 at a push. Rough and ready interior, though the bar back is nicely done in turquoise and gold. Otherwise quite bare with no atmosphere, only two other punters in despite most other Bath pubs I went in on the same evening jaunt being fairly well frequented. I was happy to dump my flaccid liquid and get gone. In the right hands and with a few quid spent, this could do well. Quite how it’s on the CAMRA Inventory is a mystery to me, I didn’t see much of note.

As described below, though the pub has seen better days. Only one ale on this time, London Pride, which was in good condition but over-chilled. Let’s hope it recovers soon.

A bright little corner bar with sun streaming through the windows, at least on this occasion. There is some sort of overflow room upstairs, while the downstairs bar has become Sleights, 'Bath's only Magic Bar', whatever that is as it wasn't open. Two ales were available in the shape of Bath Gem and London Pride, in fair condition,

This pub is on CAMRA's Regional Inventory of pubs with historic interiors, essentially due to the Victorian bar counter, and bar back with intricate columns. Unfortunately these have now been painted a horrible sort of violet colour in place of the natural wood that it used to be. As I recall there were four ales on, but unfortunately I failed to note them, possibly because this was the final (eighth) pub on crawl of Bath in which I was engaged. I didn't see any sign of food.

The downstairs bar mentioned by Blackthorn is still there, but unfortunately closed during my late Saturday afternoon visit. There is also some more seating upstairs, but seems to be for the theatre that's up there.

I thought that this was an OK pub. It's certainly not a destination pub, but was handily placed fairly near the station for a last pint before hurrying off to catch my train.

Blackthorn _ left this review about Alehouse

A tiny single room bar on a street corner near the abbey, although there is also a downstairs bar which is open in the evenings. The pub itself is a traditional layout with a bar in one corner, bench seating around the edge, some wood panelling and large windows on two sides.

A real (gas) fire was blazing away which was a nice touch on a freezing December afternoon. There are a couple of fruit machines in one corner with a plasma mounted up above, although this was not in use on our visit. The back of the bar is a very ornate wooden carving and there was some Bath Rugby memorabilia dotted around such as signed team photos and shirts. This is one of the nearest pubs to their ground, and gets packed on match days I would imagine.

Despite the name of the pub, the beer selection was fairly pedestrian with Jem, Courage Best and London Pride behind the bar. Ciders were Blackthorn and Gaymer’s Pear.

A smallish room on the ground floor with the slightly curved bar to one end. Carpeted, red ceiling and skirting boards, the bar gantry is constructed of brass pipework with globe lights. There was a roaring fire going in the tiled fireplace. Bath Rugby photos and various rugby scarves behind the bar. A TV on a high shelf was switched off on the Tuesday evening, but there was some rather loud music playing of the so called R&B type.
Cash only, no cards, so the sign said.
Seating at covered benches and stools at small round tables. Three on, Pride, Courage Best and Bath Ales Gem.
A fairly ordinary, routine town centre pub I felt, no frills but perfectly acceptable. I didn't visit the cellar bar.

Small one room pub with a separate cellar bar underneath. Decor wise it’s nothing to write home about but it does have the feel of a local in the city centre. It’s got a unisex toilet as well which is unusual. We didn’t visit the cellar bar as there were about 20 students going in as we arrived, so I suspect it’s somewhat different to the upstairs bit. Three handpumps on the bar but only two beers on, Bath Gem and London Pride, the Gem was pretty good as well. It’s an OK place but not one that you’d spend a whole night in.
