Nice little Holden's pub not too far from the main road. Bitter, XB and Special on when I called. I went for the special and it was fine.

This is a fine Holden's pub set in a no man's land of mixed housing between Wednesbury and Darlaston. It has two bars but I stuck to the public bar as it wasn't too busy. This has a nice tiled floor and red leather seating with plain wooden tables. For some reason there is an old red phone box wedged between a gap in the walls.
They serve all four mainstream Holden's beers Mild, Bitter, Golden Glow and Special. I went for the Special (£2.65) which was as good as I've tasted it. Not surprisingly it is GBG 2015 listed. It may not have the high profile of other Holden's outlets but this is a great pub and well worth the effort of finding. The only downside is that they have karaoke nights.

UPDATE: I returned to this cottage styled Holden's pub. The bar is an L-shaped one, in cream and wood panel, with a red tile floor and a nicotine coloured ceiling. There is tidy red leather bench seating. There is a tiled hearth feature in the middle of the room, which looks neat. There is a dart board and a TV, which had general programme on. Mixed pictures and a few trophies adorn the place. Beer; there are now 3 Holdens pulls on; Bitter, XB (decent) and Special - the guest has gone. This place has got better and would now definitely appear on the radar for a revisit.

(Aug 2009) A nice, detached, white rendered pub with black paint work. Has a beer garden at the back with an old red telephone box in. The interior has two rooms. I didnt see the bar particularly, but the lounge had red and white decor, with beams and with old pictures and prints on the walls. There was a music area as well. Service was fine and a reasonable and mixed clientele. Beer; tap tosh with Holdens Bitter on handpull, which was as nice as i have ever had. There was also GK LBW on. Why oh! why there was no Holdens MILD, or Special on i have no idea and flaws this otherwise excellent pub. The bitter was good enough to warrant a return, but the Prince of Wales, another Holdens pub up the road, also does not do these two fantastic drinks- mad
