This pub was taken over in 2010 by the current landlord. Has been refurbished and seating updated twice in that time. There are multiple tvs even though it is a horseshoe bar so that several sports such as football and horse racing can be shown. The pub is at it's busiest Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the disco is on but there is still a steady stream of regular daytime drinkers. There is a juke box linked to the internet so any song that has ever been released is available. In the cold weather there is always a roaring open fire at one end and a large log burner at the other. Open at 10 am Monday to Sunday and with a strictly over 21 policy the police have NEVER been called to this pub whilst under the current management. The popularity of this pub within the local community is second to none

A mock Jacobean brick and part white/timber symmetrical terraced pub.

The interior has one room, which is a U-shape around the central bar. It has been a while since i have been in here, as it has been closed a long time, but the new owners have but a lick of paint on it - it now has a cream and toffee coloured wood panel decor. There are a few pictures on the wall, but it looks a little bare. There is Sky TV. The service is fine and the clientele more mature now - it is another pub that has banned under-21s, which makes the choice of Kiss TVs dance and hip-hop as background music, all be it quiet, a little surprising.

Beer; tap stuff, with one real ale handpull - which i was amazed to see was Holden's MILD and decent too - so they could have turned up the music for all i cared.

A much better pub than it was before it closed.
