A long interior with a side facing bar with a beamed room behind. Modern cosy refit with brown the main colour and a middle class upmarket feel. Went for a half of Wye Valley Butty which wasn't the best (NBSS 2). 6.5

Spent a happy hour in the extremely busy beer garden (due to the current Covid rules). All tables were being used with many booked in advance but had no problem popping in for a couple. I went for Oracle and Lemon Dream. Both were excellent. According to my father the Golden Glow was also good.

Great little pub with a good choice of beers. I remember the tired old Red Lion and you wouldn't recognise it now. I went for a beer from Salopian and it was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Pub No. 2 on our Vintage bus tour. A decent pub this one, where a lot of thought and care has been used to bring the interior up to date. The bar has been fitted using pine timber and has been cleverly stained to resemble solid oak. This is an L shaped pub with lots of comfortable seating areas. They have even finished the rear patio garden to a high standard. Five hand pumps, I went for the Salopian Lemon, which was a well balanced and good tasting beer.

Old Peculiar left this review about Red Lion

Recently purchased by the Furious Pub Company and reopened following a £150K renovation and facelift, the pub now has Salopian beers and several guest ales from as far away as Scotland and Belgium. It is proving very popular; having a queue at the bar at 4pm on a weekday is a problem many landlords would die for, but it was worth the wait.
A far cry from the jaded place it once was, a visit is a must.

A comment really rather than review - This is a terraced Bank's' pub, a cottage type with two bay windows. It is in yellow render with a neo-classic doorway. The interior is an L-shaped room in red and white with a tile fireplace at one end. There was some music equipment in one corner (no music on) and one person in. The lady behind the bar was friendly, but there was nothing to drink - no real ale and the Banks's Dark MILD tap didn't work - MILD was only available in cans - we left. One for the locals I feel.
