A traditional cottage-styled Banks's pub and eatery in undressed brick and part cream render, with a patio and beer garden area.

The interior has three rooms. The bar room is in white and red and has a nice iron fireplace (with nice fire!), a dart board and a TV that wasn't on at my visit. The lounge is in white and red, with a beamed ceiling and has a brick fireplace, hanging jugs, whiskey bottles and some books. The dining room is in white - i didn't eat here so can't comment on that. In the passage way there is a sofa, a couple of tortoises in a tank and some maps of the area on the wall. The service was fine, the clientele a few locals and the music, which was confined to the bar room, general and a decent level.

Beer; tap stuff with Banks's MILD and Bitter on electronic cask, with Ringwood Boondoggle and Marston's Old Empire on handpull - the MILD was great.

A lovely little village pub that is worth a pop into if passing - indeed, the three pubs in Swindon are worth a detour if you are nearby - I really enjoyed it.

Very nice pub just off the Staffs & Worcester canal and well worth a stop. Banks's Mild & Bitter always available with guest ales and a real cider
