A large building in an unpromosing part of Cov,the first floor is a curry house with the meals cooked in the pub kitchen and then ferried upstairs by the waiters.The pub part on the ground floor is open plan,with high tables around the bar to the right of the entrance,there is a banquette under a side window ,then a pool table and fruit machines with more dining style tables at the back of the room.Sports screen playing on mute.
Just two ales GK Abbot and Hook Norton x Roosters Hop Me Baby One More Time,NBSS Acceptable.The curry smelt good and that maybe the highlight,there seems no reason to revisit.

The Squirrel is a large pub, although the right-hand side was closed during a recent quiet Monday late evening visit. In the open left-hand side the serving counter runs up the right-hand wall where standard keg is available. I didn’t spot any hand pumps, but this was the last pub of the day so may have missed them. Up the left-hand side opposite the counter is some standard seating before a couple of high tables in the windows and then sofas at the rear.

The Squirrel is one of the few Coventry pubs I had visited before (some 10 years ago!) and I was hoping to pop in before it shuts on the 17th Jan. It hadn't opened when I passed by so it wasn't to be.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Squirrel
Large corner pub, only part in use as a bar (the remainder used as Shai's Cocktails & Wine bar). Modernised lounge with the emphasis on food (at least at lunchtime). Two handpumps, offering something from 'Fullers' (unspecific hand-written label) and Brentwood Hope & Glory (£3.15). Friendly barman, but the place seemed to have a rather chilly atmosphere. (NB - Review dates from October 2011.)
