Soup Dragon left this review about The Waterloo

This is a detached pub, with patio area. It was originally a terraced pub in the 1880s, with the Wallows Colliery a few doors up. The name suggests it is early 19th cent, it is certainly early Victorian. It is a cottage-style pub, with and 'extra' side entrance. It is in yellow render, with green paintwork on the bay windows and central entrance. The interior has an open L-shaped room. The décor is white artex, with fake beams and green seating. There are a couple of brick fireplaces and pictures of dogs in the pool area, while the main room has more general prints and photos. There is a pool table one end and a dart board at the other. The TV had motorbike racing and the music was easy listening at a soft level. The service was fine and the clientele mature. The bogs need some TLC. Beer; usual tap stuff wit a decent enough Oyster Stout - with electronic cask Banks's Bitter and MILD, the MILD also being decent. A solid enough little pub and one I was happy to pop into.
