A Victorian corner pub and music venue, now in a garish red and cream

The interior has two rooms. The small back room which is in green has a pool table and some games machines. The main room is mainly in grey with black paintwork, but there are also touches of purple and red. It has a stage area at one end. There are a few prints on the walls, a mix of modern bulls and Victorian Adam and Eves! There is a nice marble looking Victorian fireplace and TVs with Tom & Jerry on. The service was fine, there was no other clientele. The background music was a decent level.

Beer; all keg stuff, with Spekky Hen, which was OK

A place to go to for the music, rather than just a drink. Not enough on the bber front really.

Another fine Victorian pub exterior.

Inside, the walls are painted bright colours in a 'modern style', but there are some great original Victorian features, especially the fireplace. There are two rooms, the front bar and a second room at the rear with a pool/snooker table.

There are no real ales on at all. The usual lagers etc. Old Speckled Hen is on smoothpour. I had a Guinness. There were two Guinness taps, one extra cold and one 'normal'. On enquiry I was informed that both taps serve extra cold. It was ok bog standard Guinness.

I will not be rushing back here.

Pub sign relates to the pub's pre-makeover era.
