Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The New Inn

Side-street Holden's pub, located just over the A4123 Birmingham New Road on the Roseville side of the town centre. Refurbished in a much lighter semi-modern style than the rather plain exterior might suggest, but still having very much a local atmosphere (with friendly chatter and a welcoming landlord). Not much space around the counter, but plenty more seating in the 'L'-shaped extended area at the back (sub-divided with a few half-height partitions) which is also home to the dartboard. Golden Glow, Black Country Bitter and the seasonal 20 Twenty (£2.80) available from the two banks of three handpumps.

This is a smallish Holden's pub situated a few yards from the main road between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Inside it is a long and narrow single room with a mix of tiled and carpeted flooring with the rear area more suited to eating. The bar is centrally located and was selling Holden's Mild, Bitter, Golden Glow and a seasonal beer. I went for the Golden Glow (£2.80) which was in good nick. This place was somewhat more upmarket than some of the Holden's houses visited earlier in the day but seemed a bit run of the mill to me.

On the 27th November 2012 I held a Family anf Friends party to celebrate my 65th Birthday, it was absolutely great at the New inn nothing could be faulted, superb home cooked food, cosy atmosphere, great service everything about the venue was faultless even down to the finer things, I would reccomend the New Inn for small parties of up to 30 people as the intimate surroundings are very special, places like the New Inn now adays are very few.
Keep up the EXCELLENT WORK...........Ken Cotterill

A real mish mash of interior design here well described by Mr Dragon below, artex, modern brick, iron fire place, fish tank, brasses, an old hand pull on the wall, you name it! Opened up into one room with a modern pine bar extending well into the room in the middle, seating either end. Its all a little eclectical, but works well in this Holdens street local just off the main Brummie New Road and not too far from Coseley Railway Station.

Friendly, the elderly lady behind the bar seems to move with the speed of a 20-year old!

Its a Holdens pub, selling their mild, bitter, Golden Glow and a guest. Despite being a Black Country institution Holdens is not my favourite beer, however, here it was I think the best ever pint I have ever had of Holdens bitter and was very drinkable and very appreciated.

A cream rendered end terrace cottage styled Holdens pub, with rear brick extension and patio area. It is served by entrances to the car park on both from Ward St and the main A4123 Wolverhampton Rd.

The interior has a couple of rooms. The main room, the lounge, is a U-shape around the serving bar. IThis room is in white artex walls, with some red painted and some undressed brick and a white artex ceiling with beams. There was another iron fireplaceOld brass and fun ornaments including a mummy's sarcophagus are dotted about, as well as old photographs and a fish tank (yes, with fish). There is a small side room that is in fact accessed by the front door. It is in white artex look, with an iron and brick fireplace and red leather seats. It has a dart board in and old photos on the walls. They do food in the week, but i haven't eaten there yet. There was a TV, which had motor sport on and the music was general and at a decent level (some 80s stuff as well). The service was friendly and the clietel a good mixed and quite busy crowd.

Beer; tap stuff, with an excellent choce of the Holdens range; MILD (class), Bitter, Special and Golden Glow (though on one visit this had Jungle Jim, the Holden's seasonal brew on.

Sheer class. I love this place. A proper Holden's pub with class MILD. I really look forward to returning.
