Campaigners who petitioned to have a derelict eyesore in Leamington transformed have got what they wanted after years of concern.

In May, people living in Princes Street and Comyn Street launched a petition asking Warwick District Council to put pressure on the owners of the Black Horse pub ‘to do something about the property to prevent it being used by druggies and various gangs’ after it had stood empty and in state of disrepair for five years.

But, true to owner Sandeep Panaich’s word, work has now started to transform the building into four new houses and two flats for rent.
