Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Alties

Traditional corner pub with a L-shaped layout, featuring a lounge area in one branch and the main part of the counter (with a pool table beyond in the other). Disappointingly, neither of the handpumps (featuring reversed Bass and Doom Bar clips) was working on this visit, so made do with a John Smith's (£3.25).

Will Larter left this review about Alties

A large and formerly multi-roomed pub, now opened out (three fireplaces, one blocked off, ditto doors but two blocked) and with entrance now by the door on the left of the building. There are two hand pumps on the bar, but with Doom Bar turned around and the Bass refusing to pour anything despite all that the young and helpful lass tried, I went for the Tetleys Smooth, which was ok. I was halfway down my glass when she fixed the Bass, but it was unfortunately too late for me. This seems like a pleasant locals pub, with a fine bar counter (albeit painted grey) and evidence that the name is of long-standing and that the pub used to be tied to a long-gone brewery, Eadies of Burton (see photos).
