Quinno _ left this review about The White Horse

An upmarket outlet directly opposite JDW. Enter to a lobby, the main room and bar is to the right. The interior of the main bar is a fairly dim affair, with varnished floorboards, a smattering of soft furnishings and the rest of the tables set for dining - especially so at the screened rear. Some pleasant seating out front on the cobbles. Dog friendly. Despite the pretensions, value could be found in the fixed price menu (two courses for £8.50 which compares well with the Spoons over the road). A decent selection at the bar, three ales over four pumps; Sharps Atlantic, Hogsback TEA and Purity Saddle Black, the latter of which came out at an eye-watering £2.15 for a half but was nonetheless in fine form. Also some unusual keg choices. What might have been a fairly pleasant visit was ruined by hyperactive children running amok with their indolent middle class mothers blithely ignoring what was going on and the staff not having the cojones to have a word (and on speaking to someone who knows Haslemere, this is apparently a fairly common occurrence in here). So unfortunately I doubt I'd do this one again – I can tolerate kids in pubs if they’re behaving but this was just ridiculous.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Horse Hotel

Strange mixture of old pub and modern bar, with its most distinctive feature being an overpowering smell of furniture polish. Three handpumps, but my pint of Pride was served far too cold (but slightly cheaper than I expected at £2.80).
