This is a typical traditional back street boozer located in one of Croydon's most depressing and run down parts of town. The pub has a number of rooms, the largest of which you enter first. This area has plenty of seating as well as a jukebox, several TV screens and a few interesting bits and bobs on the walls including a signed Arsenal football shirt and some certificates detailing excellent charity work undertaken by the pub. To the left is a smaller bar which is a lot darker and has limited seating options and a dartboard. The rear there is a third room dedicated to darts, which seems to be the lifeblood of the pub. Aside from the board there are signed pictures from various well known players and possibly the most impressive pub trophy cabinet I've ever seen. A beer garden to the rear and a few benches out the front round off the pub's facilities.
Five hand pumps, but only a truly terrible pint of Courage Best (£2.50)to choose from, which in all honesty I should have sent back. The service was very prompt, but hardly welcoming and the locals all had a good long stare when I walked in.
A decent enough community local and seemingly a must for darts players, but not worth the effort for the casual passerby and certainly not for the beer enthusiast.
