Real Ale Ray left this review about Crown Hotel

This is a Grade II listed former coaching Inn. I think if you're looking for a traditional pub, then you're in the wrong place, this is more of a hotel/restaurant. The Crown is very well kept and well run. The restaurant is situated on the left-hand side when entering and the bar was on the right, down a few steps. The bar area was traditional and had a cast iron fireplace, a few tables, chairs and chesterfield settee. GK IPA and Speckled Hen are their permanent and Woodfordes Wherry was the guest on the day.

Large hotel with a very small and very dull and boring bar that lacked any atmosphere.2 real ales on which were both from GK.Should have found a better pub but the rest seem to be closing pretty fast.

Phantom Pigeon left this review about Crown Hotel

The place really lacked atmosphere. There was only one other couple.
The lunch was not bad. The service left a little to be desired.
As to the beer, quite a selection of lagers, but on the "real" front, GK IPA and Ruddles County, not too exciting. The Ruddles was fairly good, though. A return visit? Unlikely.
