A traditional town boozer consisting of a single square bar. The usual pub games are there – darts and pool in the bar and a skittle alley behind. The area around the pub is very noisy, and not somewhere I’d want to be out at night. The building dates from the Georgian period. They have their own association football team, and they host regular theme nights. The landlady was very welcoming, offering Speckled Hen and Hobgoblin in bottles, but there was no ale on draft so I doubt I’ll be coming back in the near future.
