A very nice looking building, white with green painted windows and doors, with an even nicer interior, for details of which see the link to the Camra heritage site. The two bars have different beer offerings, and anyone entering from the door on the corner could easily be unaware of the two hand pumps in the second bar. I was lucky enough to spot the Stonehouse Station Bitter (see photos for the others in both bars), one of my favourite beers in Shropshire - similar to Hobsons Best but in my view better. If I was lucky enough to live in Shrewsbury, I reckon I would be here at least once a week (so many pubs, so little time).

This historic grade II Victorian Inn was recommended as a place to eat by the proprietor of our B&B, but the large back dining room was in darkness and did not seem to be in use when we rucked up at 5.30pm on an early Friday evening, so it was a good thing we were only here for a beer.
And on this front both the two atmospheric wood panelled front rooms were being well utilised by drinkers and there was no room in the small snug room to the side.
Alongside the local Long Mynd Cider on one pump Salopian Oracle, Hinson’s Best and a very decent Goffs Jester Brew 10 skinny latte stout were on the others. This was a good visit to this historic Inn.

A Grade II-listed pub this, with an interior which CAMRA near as damns with faint praise by describing it as being of Some Regional Importance.
As described previously, with a pint of Salopian Oracle coming in at the price listed below, unsurprisingly given that they were purchased at the same time and which my notes describe simply as being 'nice'.
A good pub and worthy of inclusion in a day's crawl.

Just off the town centre, this a fairly cosy sort of pub with some nice old features. Half a dozen ales and a cider or two can be had from the tiled front bar, and a smaller bar behind which has a large restaurant area to the rear. Quite pleasant.

Small and cosy ,this street corner pub has a front room which incorporates a seperate small seating section ,but most punters gather on the long bench seat under the front window opposite the bar.My visit was on a crawl and I failed to inspect the rear room. There was a pleasing hubub about the place and it had a tradition boozer vibe.
I noted 4 handpumps in the tap room serving a real cider,Goffs Jester Brew 10,Hobson's Best and Salopian Oracle (NBSS 3).Not the most exciting line up but a decent stop on a real ale crawl.

Nice enough pub but no real ale of any strength. I had a strong cider which was in fine order. Front and back rooms available and we left as what looked like a coach party was coming in - good timing.

Nice pub but a poor selection of ales from the 3 handpumps on the bar made it a bit of a disappointment beer wise. The pub itself is a cosy little place and an invasion of Camra crusties made it seemed packed on this visit. Sadly a predictable crustie bore was berating some poor lad in their party who bought Stella.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Coach & Horses

A fine side-street pub, featuring a very traditional two-bar interior with four handpumps in the busy front room (with a side snug) and two more in the rear part (which is extended within a dining room beyond). Two Stonehouse Brewery beers (Station and Off the Rails) on offer, and the two real ales from Salopian (Shropshire Gold and Oracle) are priced at just £2.20 during 'happy hours'. Phoenix Arizona and a Thatcher's cider also available.

My sort of pub and the pick of a very good bunch on our Shrewsbury pub crawl.

Lovely victorian boozer with wood panelling and little alcoves. Nice pint of Salopian Oracle.

Recommended.

This iss an unspoilt corner pub with a small bar at the front with red tiled flooring. It's much more traditional than the Admiral Benbow nearby. Beers I noticed were Salopian Shropshire Gold & Oracle, Stonehouse Station Bitter, Weetwood Mad Hatter and Twickenham Sundancer a long way from home. I went for the Salopian Oracle (£2.95) which was outstanding. This was one of my favourites in Shrewsbury and is GBG 2015 listed.
