A traditional locals pub this one, with good reasonably priced quality beers. The main features in here was the low ceilings with the original oak beams and supports, along with a bespoke designed brick fireplace. Beerwise, Banks Mild, Amber and Wainwright. We went for the Wainwright which was top notch.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wheatsheaf
Very attractive old pub, both inside and out, seemingly with relatively little alteration in the two-bar layout. The main one at the front was probably once two rooms but there is still a bit of a partition between the two parts, and there is also another small room (almost a snug) behind the fireplace. The smaller side bar also has two connected areas, and all parts are very traditional in appearance. Duplicated selection of Banks's Mild (£2.65) and Amber, Wainwright and Courage Directors from a total of nine handpumps divided between the two counters. As I left, I saw a local musician arrive for a session and live music would be at home here I'm sure.

Nice looking pub with plenty outside seating. Not the most adventurous choice of beers with Banks's Amber, Mild, Wainwright and Courage Directors available. The Amber was fine. Better places nearby for me but OK to call in for a quick one.

This attractive looking pub is midway between the two "cask ale emporiums" the Plough and the White Hart. It also has an old beamed attractive interior and sports four handpumps. If this was a free house it could rival the other two, but as this is a Banks/Marstons house there was much less interest in the cask ale, with the majority of punters drinking lager on my visit. However, my half of Banks's Sunbeam was very pleasant.
I also must thank the local that followed me outside to return the wallet that I left on the bar!

This is a detached low-level pub/B&B and eatery, with dormer windows, white rendered façade and large chimney stacks. There is a conservatory and patio areas. The exterior looks 19th century, but would take a guess that the core of the building is older.
The interior décor is a mix of undressed brick, red, cream and green walls, some wood panel, with tiled and stone floor, along with ceiling and support beams. There are a few brick fireplaces. There is a dining area, which is what you walk into to be honest, with tables and chair and the far end of this area, almost screened off by a central fireplace is a nice settle juxtaposed with a sofa and a bookcase of paperbacks to flick through. There are some old posers and signs on the walls and easy listening music. The food we had was very good value – 2 for £10 and the pies were pretty big – minted lamb! There is a bar/lounge area, with a dartboard, in cream and undressed brick, with modernish feel – landscapes and flower prints on the walls. The conservatory had wicker furniture. The service was friendly and the clientele consisted of a few maturer people, but it was 12 o’clock.
Beer; tap stuff with Marston’s Oyster stout, which was fine. On handpull there was Banks’s MILD, Bitter, Marston’s EPA and Ringwood Fortyniner.
A great place, only bettered on the day by the great White Hart up the road. The food was decent and good value – most definitely I would return here

Traditional pub with oak beams and a roaring fire. 2 Banks's beers plus Hobgoblin and Ringwood Old Thumper when I visited. I had a pint of the Hobgoblin which was in fine fettle. There are loads of daily newspapers available for the punters to read as well which is great. A nice little pub.
