Sprawling low town pub that has been extended into addition buildings.

Three bar areas but only one manned. Nicely decorated rooms with a Mod / Sixties theme - including Who motifs and a full wall mural of Keef from the Stones.

Beer - well, nearly all of my favourites were on - which is unusual as they were all similar types of Pale Ale/Bitters - Wye Valley HPA, Town Crier, Bathams and Three Tuns (Which was in superb condition).

They don't really do food but the cobs were good value.

Worth checking out.

The Black Horse was the first pub we did in the Low Town area of Bridgnorth.
Once inside there are two separate rooms,we went into the lounge to the rear as this room was busier than the front bar room, both are oblong shaped, the lounge is carpeted and has bench seating and chairs and tall tables and chairs to the rear.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Bathams Bitter, which was a very nice drink, the other real ales were Three Tuns XXX,Wye Valley HPA and Wye Valley Butty Bach.
This was a decent enough pub to go to for a drink.

Another good Bridgnorth pub and well worth a visit. The pub has a good friendly atmosphere and bar staff were chatty and helpful, the service was also fast, in spite of the pub being busy on our Saturday afternoon visit.
There were nine handpumps all in use, so went for the Salopian Hop Twister.

Much different to when I stayed here a few years ago, it’s had quite a makeover and a new conservatory built on the side, the natives are still friendly and the beer quality has improved although it wasn’t bad before. The layout is much as I remember it but now the rear has been panelled in light wood into a modern lounge with a new carpet and a drinking shelf equipped with stools. The other furnishings being a mix of tables and chairs with a couple of settles, a big screen provides for the sporting fans. The nine pulls serve a range of mainly local brewers beers, Hobsons, Holdens and Bathams, the keg stuff is arranged on a horseshoe affair with a small screen dangling from it. The front bar is a plainer public type room and there’s a canteen like dining area at the far reaches of the back.

I liked the feel of this place when I visited in August 2010 so I returned and stayed overnight. The accommodation is compact but modern, clean and certainly good value at £55 including full buffet breakfast for two.

Nine handpulls in the lounge were Holden’s Mild, Holden’s Bitter, Batham’s Bitter, Hobson’s Town Crier, Wye Valley HPA, Greene King St Edmunds, Greene King Abbott, Butcombe Gold Bitter and Nottingham Brewery Extra Pale Ale. Still a great place for a drink or an overnight stay.

Excellent place. Friendly service, tidy and homely. We sat in the front room chatting while a few fellas watched the match on Sky Sports at the back.

Cask ales were Holden's Mild (fab), Holden's Bitter, Batham's Bitter, Old Speckled Hen, Wye Valley HPA, GK St Edmund's Golden Beer, Butty Bach, Hobson's Town Crier. What a line up!

Next time I'm back in Bridgnorth this place is on my 'must visit' list.

Terraced building on one side, with brick and half rendered facade.

Small tap room with dart board at the front decorated with sporting memorabilia, large lounge, with wood panel and old pictures of Bridgnorth, plus a conservatory at the back. Seats in the small room were plain leather - one a little ripped. The service was fine and the place clean, though the gaffer seemed a little oiled up on our last visit. Music was played at a good level.

Beer had changed since my last visit, it still had the usual keg stuff, but now with Holdens MILD,Bitter and Special on handpull, along with Hobsons Best and the excellent Bathams bitter - so good, it could be a mild!

A very good pub, with now a host of my favourite drinks, so will always visit this place given the chance

Small tap room with dart board at the front decorated with sporting memorabilia, large lounge plus a conservatory at the back. Half a dozen handpumps in the lounge selling Bank's Original & Bitter, Bathams Best and changing guest beers. Had a pint of the Bathams which was very good and went to sit in the conservatory which was very pleasant. Very popular pub it was pretty busy early on a Wednesday evening. Only negative was that I won £6 on the quiz machine and the thieving sod only paid out £5 as it said the hopper was empty. It's a good pub and I'll call in again next time I'm in Bridgnorth.
