Improved since Quinno's 2016 visit. It's changed hands a few times since and now community-owned with a continued focus on food and locAles, albeit just the one on my visit from three handpulls – Uley Hussar – which was in good shape, albeit was a faff to be served; new barrel and first pint, served by a friendly and apologetic barmaid. The nearest pub to the exit to Blenheim Palace, there were plenty of tourists in if the rucksacks were anything to go by (definitely not pub tickers!) and there's the obligatory Churchill paraphernalia dotted around (his resting place is just over the way from here). Bit of a disappointment on the limited ale front bit I'll let them off.

Quinno _ left this review about The White House

A forlorn GK place, a long and narrow front facer that operates mainly as an eatery. Has been refurbed in a cheap and tacky fashion with the budget seemingly running out halfway through; utterly stripped of character, the rattly white and snot green interior was a joy mop. Three pumps with only GK IPA on which was at least drinkable. The four other determined drinkers looked like extras out of (or still in?) Escape from Alcatraz. Light relief was supplied by the hapless young barman who appeared to be doing everything in the pub bar the actual cooking and eventually it all go too much for him as the poppadums from the poorly-loaded plate on his arm went gently sailing off down the bar like a crispy Frisbee.
