Komakino . left this review about The Masons Arms

A step back in time or two, this appears to be more front room than pub, despite the attraction of the skittle alley out back as per the exterior sign. Another Cotswold stone build, you enter into a wallpapered room with comfy stone fireplace against the right-hand wall, a wood burner ablaze, rug in front of the hearth, two armchairs either side and old boy in situ in one watching a football highlights package. Shelves heaving with board games. Green upholstered banquette seating against the left with small, square tables and stools. Bar against far wall where two further punters and the guv'nor watched a second TV tuned into Movies4Men. Darker and stonier, there's a room which comes back which suggests a former sub-division and plenty of cups and trophies. There was a dartboard and oche to the left of the bar, along with another stony fireplace located here. On my visit there was a Birthday cake on the bar and bottles of Irish whiskey. There were four unclipped pumps, two at either end of the bar. Upon asking, the Irish guv'nor told me 80/ was on (unsure whether Belhaven or Caledonian) and quipped a half was at a cost of only 70 shillings (i.e. £1.80). A curio in this day and age, and certainly one to see to be believed.
