Subterranean cellar bar. Two rooms with football on in both. No ale, so Guinness. The chrome bar was littered with empty glasses and it’s fair to say the interior needs TLC. Got stared at by the locals (Wantage is quite a duelling banjos kind of place – lack of a train station). Left.

As the names says it's located in a cellar reached down steps guarded by members of the nicotine irregulars. Inside past the entrance way toilets are two drinking seating areas, a square one with the counter and a smaller raised one to the left. The first thing that strikes you is the number of screens in the place, showing different sports, and the constant music. It seems a little too brightly lit for this style of place, perhaps it is turned down low later in the evening. It was pretty busy on a late afternoon with a good age mix of customers watching the racing and even polo. Leatherette covered bench seating round the walls with very short square tables and even shorter stools. Two T Bars of the usual stuff provide the refreshments for lager and cider drinkers, I didn't notice any smooths.
