Recently re-opened after a few years of closure, this village pub is hidden down a lane behind the nearby Talkhouse and retains its pebble-dashed façade from previous. A room with bar entered from the car park was darked out on my Sunday afternoon visit, and this leads (via steps to the right-hand side) to a sunken main bar area with bare floorboards, exposed stone and an open fireplace. A further room beyond the bar to the left was also darked out and appeared to be a small dining room. Beers were GK IPA and Shotover Prospect (only OK) with two further pumps unclipped. A triumvirate of sweary locals ruined the dusky ambience and I'd probably give this place until mid-2017 in its current state.
