The Half Moon is an L-shaped single roomed pub with parquet flooring and wood panelling throughout. Seating is found around exterior walls as well as on a small raised area right front. Limited premium keg was available and only TT Landlord was available on cask as three hand pumps stood unused. I had a Staropramen that wasn’t in the best condition. Next time I find myself in the area I’m going to stroll across the bridge to the decent pubs.

A Greene King pub with a bit of run-down character inside. Would have been at least two rooms back in the day but now crudely knocked-through. Parquet flooring, banquette seating, three quarter length wood panelling. Loads of old foreign banknotes behind the bar. Upright piano (tuned?) and jukebox spotted. Six pumps at the bar got us excited but it turned out there were just three available. On pouring the Bath Gem spluttered and died so just Oakham Inferno (which was excellent) and a house beer (which the barmaid helpfully confirmed our suspicions that it was indeed a GK rebadge). Does make me wonder how well the place is run if they were almost out of beer on a Friday evening but the quality of the Oakham was an indicator of better things.

Popped in here for a quick couple yesterday night and found this to be a pleasant little split level pub.

Quite a locals' haunt, friendly barmaid, coal fire and good sounds on the jukebox.

I'd certainly come here again, but I don't know how busy it might get at weekends or when not visiting on Christmas Eve.
