Komakino . left this review about The Crown

This remains no frills with a sole choice of Morland Original (two other pumps were unclipped). A small brick bar with wooden counter is centre-left and the room is laminate floor underfoot and above head with a raised area to the left of the entrance carpeted with a dartboard and some tables, a pool table and high tables / stools in the centre of the room and a smallish alcove room to the right, also carpeted with armchair-type chairs and a TV screen. An area through a doorway to the left of the bar operates as a Chinese restaurant / takeaway and through doors to the right a decent patio area and garden are accessed. Still no frills, but a handful of locals were in situ on a Saturday afternoon visit with a smattering of the local accent in these parts making itself known (the word twelve is pronounced as "twalve"). If you're visiting Chalgrove to do the three pubs here, get this one out of the way first.

June 2014
Of the three public house options in the south Oxfordshire village of Chalgrove, scene of the slaying of parliamentarian John Hampden, The Crown is the most 'no frills'. Laminate flooring adorns the ceiling, drink choice is minimal and the vibe is distinctly 'local', however, the beer (Morland Original) was well-kept and it was the busiest pub in the village on a pre-World Cup Wednesday night in June, thanks to a contest of that venerable old Oxfordshire game Aunt Sally being in full swing.
